4th Annual Malibu Invitational
The 4th Annual Malibu Invitational, presented by PRIMO Hawaii’s Original Beer is just around the corner. The event will take place on the 28th-29th of August hosted by a full roster consisting of: Val’s Surf, Freedom Artists, Duke’s Malibu, and Vans. Surfing and commentating for this event, is Director of The Blue Project, Steven Lippman. In addition to working as a director & professional photographer, Steven is a sponsored surfer who has surfed this event every year consecutively supporting event benefactor, Lyon Herron.

“Pascal Stansfield and Patrick Jensen of Freedom Artists, Skylar Peak and John Hildebrand of Sicky Dicky Productions, Seumas Santoro of Podium Distribution, and Brandon Richards of Val Surf present The 4th Annual Malibu Invitational to benefit local surfer Jimmy Gamboa’s TheraSURF.
The Malibu Invitational is an invitational pro/am shortboard surfing competition. The contest will be held from 7:00AM to 6:00PM on Saturday August 28th and Sunday August 29th at world famous 1st Point, Surfrider Beach, in Malibu, Ca. The surf competition itself is by invitation only and the event is open to the public for viewing from the beach.
The contest will feature Professional Surfers from around the world, Malibu Legends, and Jimmy Gamboa’s TheraSURF Free Surf. TheraSURF is an organization that focuses on healing kids with special needs by taking them in the ocean to surf.
For the past three years The Malibu Invitational has benefitted local surfer Lyon Herron who has been heroically battling a rare genetic disease called Gardner’s Syndrome for the past 14 years. It is with great love and admiration from Lyon that we as a surfing community come together this year to help others in need. This years 4th Annual Malibu Invitational will benefit TheraSURF and their efforts in healing kids with special needs.”
